shawniverse, Nice car and work. I have just one question about the gas tank filler being in the truck. Where is the tank vented to? I believe most of these old cars used a vented cap, which means you are venting gasoline vapors into the trunk? I know this used to be a common practice with custom cars . The only reason I ask is because I'm concerned about your safety...

That's really cool, normally I don't like pinstriping but that's very tasteful. Is that a Mercury?

Nice car/tastefully done, but....(just my opinion), I would have thought the cleaner lines of a tubular grill more in keeping with the Ford's superior styling (?). The 54 scrub HAD to be one of the ugliest cars ever made.

I gotta go with Bob on the Gas tank venting. I don't think a filler in the trunk is a good idea in any case. If the tank does not have a vent separate from the gas cap, which should be a non venting cap, change it now!.. Gasoline vapors are more dangerous than carrying Dynamite in your trunk!..

Very nice.As was mentioned very tastefully done. The motor looks great!Well done. The only suggestion I would make is to try and find a left exhaust manifold for dual exhaust.

Sorry guys been working all weekend. Thank you for all the comments on my car. No it does not vent in to the trunk. It vents under the car. I also boxed in the filler neck in the trunk and vented that behind the license plate. Jester, no it is not a merc. Just a 54 Ford customline. I have a left exhaust manifold but the linkage is in the way and I could not get it to fit. That is my least favorate part under my hood. I thought about a tubular grill but I am really pleased with how this one came out. I used the orginal park lights from my grill and just changed the center bar. The grill that was in it was UGLY.

Great looking 54, Shawniverse. I think that grille looks pretty classic, like the De Soto grilles you used to see on lots of hot rods. Looks great to me. Keep up the good work.
