Hello Paul! If you make a mistake and post in wrong place you can delete it and repost by clicking on delete next to the wrong post. The only one you can delete is the one you post yourself. Then redo it in the correct posting.Wasn't sure if you knew this.

Glen, I don't have a flywheel. I'm putting the original engine in my Merc. and I had to get everything. The only thing left I have to get is the flywheel.

thanks, Tom

No! The outside dia of the flywheel is larger than the one that you need. Do you have the flywheel that came with the setup that you have? If you do and the ring gear is the problem it can be replaced or turned around, I let Frank Rice have the only extra one that I had, but it needed the ring gear to be reversed. I also have the 3 hole one from the 2 speed that I will give you, but it want work. If you don't find one, let me know and I will loan you one of the two that I have left, but I have plans for it and don't really want to let it go at this time.

A guy has a 15" in diameter flexplate with the starter teeth on the flywheel and it came off a 292 with a 2 speed with a 3 bolt torque converter. Now can I take that flexplate and drill 4 bolts for my converter. Will it work?

thanks, Tom

Hi Guys, I'm having a very difficult time finding a Flywheel ( Flexplate) for a 1959--FOM 3 speed auto tranny for a 292 cu. in. y-block engine. The flywheel measures about 15" in diameter with the starter teeth on the flywheel and the Torque Converter has 4 studs about 11 1/2" apart to bolt to the flexplate ( pic. attached). I can find one with 3 holes for torque converter. Can I buy the 3 bolt one and drill the holes required to bolt my 4 bolt converter to it?  Thanks, Tom
