Okay, I am 4th generation Californian, that's a fact. But....one of my best childhood compadre's who has remained so since the late 50's is from a full-blooded Cajun family in Lousiana dating back to when the British ran them out of Canada. He was in New Orleans during Katrina and I drove down there in the aftermath to help him move back to Lafayette. We spent some time in the horrors of the 9th Ward. That's another story, though. I get down that way fairly often so my allegiance falls in with the Saints. Anybody else want to stick their head up in the SuperBowl turkey shoot?

Many of the Cajun's are a result of a mix of the French and Abenaki/Micmac indians in Nova Scotia. When moved to the Louisanna territory they blended quickly with the local native's there. My wife has many cousins in Louisanna and in fact one dear one in Church Point just north of Lafeyette. His name is Larry Richard. What is your friends name? Chuck in NH

Call me a crazy Canadian, but:

New Orleans: Great people! Bourbon Street,  National WW II Museum, Confederate Soldiers museum, Air-boat touring the swamps and the best poor boy sandwiches you'll ever eat!

Go Saints GO!!!

Oh yeah..there's a Harrad's Casino...don't want to talk about it.

Remember the Mannings are from The Big Easy. He was smart enough to play for the Colts, tells me what he thinks about this. I'm with John, this is Indy's year.Tongue

Even though I'm an AFC fan I'm rooting for the Saints. I think what Drew Brees and his teammates have done in bringing that city back onto its feet is a great story. The people of N.O. could use a lift. That said, I think Manning and the Colts will win.

Being a fan of Saints I agree that the Colts have the upper hand. I remember Archie Manning's 10 losing years with the Saints, he was a great talent without a team that could support him. Also Brett Farve is of French/Native American descent and grew up 50 miles from New Orleans. Drew Brees is a great quarter back though, and he could obviously pull this one off. Don't know for sure but there could have been a Y block in some of those folks garages or a relatives garage or at the least, down the street.

Well, given a long and hard fought NFL season filled with injuries, the compression ration has been known to drop significantly.
