The carb in question is a 55 Lincoln? teapot I assume.

ECT 9510 J LIST 1392-1

Anyone know the cfm numbers of this carb and will it flow better than the regular 55 and 56 Ford teapots? This would be for a VS57 blown 292 with a few goodies. Wink

The Holley #1392 carb is listed as being for a 1956 Ford truck with the 332 LYB engine.  As an additional piece of information, this carb is listed as a model 4000-G which means it originally came with a governor.  No cfms are rated in my book but at this point, a picture would help to identify it as the standard 410cfm carb or the larger Lincoln carb.  The Lincoln carbs would have the square choke plates while the 410 carbs would have the choke plates that are flat at their tops and semi-round at their bottoms.

Ted, here are the photos that Charlie sent me, I just got the carbs yesterday and take a few more photos if that helps...

This is a complete carb, but I do remember a cover plate just aft of the linkage (where a governor might be attached if need be). Obviously, if this carb flows more cfm than the standard teapots, I would like to use it, but if it doesn't, I would probably go with one of the other carbs he sent me. Lots of parts to swap out if I need them.

thanks...

I contacted the Daytona Carburetor Parts co. down in Florida and mentioned changing this carb for a blow-through operation. They said it would never work because the carb originally had a governor on it (though it obviously has been removed). How many of you out there have dealt with this company? Mostly I only hear of Pony Carbs on this site, but the last kit I got for a teapot was from Daytona and the kit was very well put together...

I would assume that FoMoCo would have made the Lincoln Y block series (or big truck block series) carbs to flow more cfm because of the larger ci size of the blocks?

Dan, The Lincoln does flow more. It has larger venturii and throttle bores. If you decide not to mess with it, and use a later carb, let me know and I'll buy the Lincoln from you. I always can use spares.
