I used Runtz on my 55 fairlane as well. Great little products! If my memory serves me correctly, I Installed the Runtz on the gauge's inside post, closest to the speedo cable.

The G and Y may have been color markings for the original wires. I'm pretty sure Y(ellow) goes to the fuel tank. I also think the gauge doesn't care which is hot and which is sender.

Rewireing my 55 Fairlane with a Rebel Wire kit and I'm not sure which wire goes where on the two posts behind the fuel gauge. One post is labeled "G" and the other looks like a "Y". I have a Runtz reducer to install so I need to know which post is positive and which is sending unit. Any help?
