They look so good after bead blasting Im thinking it would be nice to keep that look for a while.

Anyone have any products they liked for coating exhast manifolds? Just looking to keep them pretty for a while, not a professional ceramic coat or anything.

I thought there was a post on it but I cant seem to find it again....

Thanks

Gregory

You are probably thinking about a product called Caylx.  It's a dark grey, a little like bare new cast iron.

Most auto parts store should have a high temp cast iron grey, it will keep them looking good for a couple years, but I found eventually you have to redo them. Keep all your studs and bolts well lubed, never seized, whatever and they are very easy to pull off and respray every so often.

POR 15 has a complete line of manifold coatings.  Their cast iron gray looks great and is darn near bulletproof.

I've used the eastwood manifold paint with good results. Goes on with a foam brush. Very easy to touch up every few years with foam brush while on car if you are careful...

I tried the Eastwood brush on ceramic coating. Blasted the parts, oven backed them to 450deg had the painted by a local body man with his gun. Reheated, cooled, reheated to "set" the coating. It peeled off almost right away. My first bad experience with an Eastwood product but I would not recommend it. Chuck in NH

I used JetHot. They have lasted 6 years now, and although they aren't as shiny as new, they do still look great. Little spendy though, especially when you factor in shipping.

My name is Greg and I am addicted to Y's.
