Fellas- I've been in the process of getting my battery cables made and installed, and I'm not certain of the routing. The POS terminal to the solenoid is done, I'm just wondering if someone could tell me where the points the cable from the starter to the solenoid are secured via the cable hold downs? (I've got one with a big bolt hole, and one with a smaller hole) Also, what is the routing/ placement of the NEG terminal cable, and where/ to what is it ultimately bolted to? I could probably just wing it, but I feel like I've come to far to just start guessing at what little is left to be done.... -Thanks- /DuckFor a 56, the cable from the solenoid to the starter is routed through a hold down (loose fitting clamp) attached to one of the bellhousing bolts. That is the only one I am aware of. I believe the 57 is the same, not sure on a 55 but I don't see any reason why it would be different.
For the ground/negative cable, the 55 (positive cable) is attached to the bracket near the carb linkage (at least on a stick car), not sure on an automatic car. For 56, the ground (neg) was attached to the bolt that holds the spark plug wire clamp under the exhaust manifold. For 57, the ground wire was attached to a stud on the firewall behind the battery..
