Congratulations on your success and may I say it's a thing of beauty! Love the plumbing for the fuel system--if I was to run tripower on my Y-block that would be how I'd imagine it would look! Again, great job! KID

Looks and sounds good!  Except it has a squeak in it before it even starts. Tongue

They look and sound fantastic.

One thing to consider in the engine compartment would be to re route the spark plug wires underneath your headers.

Great job!

Beautifully detailed and finished.  I notice that you have run the throttle linkage across the back of the manifold a'la stock '56 truck and then put the progressive linkage on the left side of the carbs. I couldn't see it on the video but you may want to be sure there is a WOT positive stop on the right side linkage so that you don't twist the center carb's throttle shaft when you mash the gas.

Congratulations Bing.  That is an awesome looking Y.  I have always been a fan of "no name" finned aluminum valve covers.  That matching air cleaner tops it off (pun intended).  I can see you have spent many hours detailing everything and it has paid off.  Everyone seems to have a comment and I guess I am no exception.  I noticed in the video that the fuel pressure didn't come off of zero.  I'll have to go back to the video and see if you are running a stock pump or an electric (if electric, perhaps you just hadn't turned it on yet and the fuel bowls were still full).

Again, kudos for a job well done...........Charlie

It's perdy. When we see how the 573 compares to the 4v intakes, my plan may change slightly. I love the look.

Thanks to for all the kind works.  My theme was less is more and the goal was a very clean not to flashly engine and a clean engine compartment.  I'm sure someone out there will think needs work but for me its's mission accomplished....and now to the comments needed comments.

Tim, you sure you aren't missing a wrench or too??  It never squeeked like that before you got it.BigGrin

Unibody, good idea and never thought of that.  Think I will do it afterall my goal was a celan engione compartment.

Doug, there is a WOT stop on the right side.  I also have a stop on the left side called my heater hose.  The left side so full and tight that before I reach WOT the linkage hits the heater hose outlet on the water pump.  I have a lower profile on at NAPA to pick up tonight and then all should be well.

Mark, sorry but you can't have this one it's got way to much of my blood, skin, knuckles and sweat in it.

Charlie, I noticed that also when I was doing the video.  I am running a stock pump and it was reading about 2 lbs earlier in the day so not sure what is going on.

Oh, re the pressure gauge, had the engine been running and warmed up? Some mechanical gauges seem to be affected by heat the heat - when it's warm enough, it reads 0. It happens with mine. If it's running alright, then don't worry about it.
