Today i look on my engine, and on right side from the block under the headgasket i saw a leak of green fluid. It´s radiatorfliud !!!!

I think my cylinderheadgasket had a leakage !!!

Now i have to replace it ;-((((

First, i must know are all cylinderheadgaskes for y block´s the same, because i dont know exactly which block i have, 292 or 312 cui!!! Because of ordering the right parts

What is the best, to find out witch block i have, without considerable expenditure???

Secondly, i need a link for a good company to buy a complete gasket kit !!! And which all bolts i must have new???

Thirdly, and what must i observe strictly by changing the gasket???

So many questions, but i think i am here on thr right place to became the best answers !!!

I would go with Best Gaskets. To get them and find out more about your Block and the Y-Blosks see John Mummert @ http://www.ford-y-block.com/

To pull a single cylinder head for gasket maintenance, you’ll need a head gasket, intake manifold gasket set, and a valve cover gasket.  If the valley pan shows evidence of leakage, then this would be a good time to also service that particular gasket.  Exhaust gaskets are optional as the exhaust manifolds were originally installed without gaskets.  Installation of gaskets where the exhaust manfolds attach to the heads tends to force the exhaust manifolds to crack or break at a faster pace.

All the bolts are technically reusable but this is a good time to upgrade the head bolts to some new grade eight bolts. If replacing the head bolts, insure that they do not bottom out within their respective holes.  Hardened washers on the head bolts will also help to more evenly distribute the torque.  Pay particular attention to the head bolt lengths as they are being pulled out of the holes as the upper row end bolts in the heads are longer than the center three on the ’57 and newer engines.  Exhaust manfold bolts should be replaced with new ones if they show signs of heat distress.

If you don’t have a hardware store that you can get the grade eight bolts from to replace your current length head bolts, then getting some ARP brand head bolts through John Mummert is an option. Here’s the link.

http://www.ford-y-block.com/arp.htm

There’s nothing fancy about the exhaust bolts and any hardware grade bolt that measures the same length should suffice for those.  Just be sure to use some high temperature anti-seize on the threads of those before installing.
