Received a disc brake "kit" based on the late 70's Granada set-up... installed on my `57 bird this weekend with no drama.

EXCEPT, I'm accustomed to calipers that actually bolt to a spindle member... these THINGS just fit loosely in place until you drive-in the locking block and spring strip. Crazy

No positive stop, no precision, no assurance of square... just bash the block/spring home until the shoulder bolt lines up with the very generous hole in the lock block.

Really... seriously... is that the way its suppose to work!?!? Somebody talk me down from bailing on these in favor the old drums.

Calipers which bolt on is a GM thing. Fords use a weird clip thing that is hammered in. It will be fine.

Phew!!!  Thanks fellas.  I'll take your words/experiences as an endorsement for keeping these things... which is good, cuz I really like the 1" drop I get on ride height. woo-woo!!!

Thanks again...
