I was out at the Del Mar show and stopped by the Edelbrock display because they had a bunch of their new 94s on display.  While talking to one of their reps he told me that sometime around spring the "new" Y Block 3X2 intake and valve covers should be appearing and then whispered to me that they are casting Mummerts heads like it was a huge secret.

On a side note...H&H also had a Y Block on display with all of theitr Flathead stuff.  They are getting into Ys also>

A combination of the reintroduction of the 573 intake, valve covers, and carbs along with making Mummert's aluminum heads is compeling. I have watched the Edlebrock family race Shelby GT350's at the Monterey Historic Vintage races many times. They also support the SBF and FE motors reasonably well. That said....the bad blood created by them over the years will take some doing to heal for some folks. It also could reflect on the aftermarket finally burning out on the rubber-stamp scrub combo and moving toward more interesting and unique engines.

I hear they (Edelbrock) are going to produce the valve covers again along with the 573 intake, so someone there is convinced that the Y is still a good idea.  they are also casting Johns heads.

There was a time when Edelbrock was a name in FORD country. Can't help it if his son is a closed minded jerk. Besides they are at least working with John on the aluminum heads. Maybe he'll bring him around! I hear one of the daughters is into Fords! Chuck in NH

Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

From time to time, someone on the site has or wants them for their Y-block. While there is no law against that, I find the situation interesting. The reason being that Vic Edelbrock II, has indicated that he has no use for our favorite engine, describing it as "awful"! Besides his company has made most of their money catering to the SBC crowd. Personally I wouldn't put a free set on my car...
