Can the 272 y block be bored out as much as the 292 y block.  In other words, was a new casting created for the 292?

yes it can be bored to 292.they are different but not by much.

Most of them can be safely be bored to a 292. However, a few cannot. Before you spend a lot of money, sonic test the cylinder walls.
