Just had some very bad news.  Those of you that now me well know that my mom is dieing, that is to be expected, she has cancer and is almost 88 years old.  The bad news is that a customer, friend and fellow motor minded thrill seeker has died this weekend.  My good friend Augie was into flat track motor cycle racing 500cc Yamahas, and we would talk about how stupid it was for us "old" guys to be into racing at our age and laugh about it all the time.  Sat. night in Sanoma he went down on a turn and had a few other fun guys run into him and that was the end of Augie's fun.   Well I don't race motorcycles but I am building a dragster, which is now done by the way, and it makes you think when a fellow thrill seeker is killed..... the last thing I am going to tell you folks is to stop doing dangerous things because in my mind that is what makes life worth while, but I am going to tell you that life is shorter than you think so make sure you are right about what is important.  I hope you all know the lord as I do, it dosn't make you perfect but it does give you piece of mind and forgiveness.  I am going to drive my FED at 150 - 180 mph and love it!  If God wants me he will take me just as easy slipping in a bath tub.  I know where I will be in the end, I hope you all do too.  God Bless!

Tim,

Our condolences for your loss, and you bring up such valid points that speak to the reasons for the existence of Y Block Ministries.  Life itself is a risk, and there is every need to consider the after life. Live life to the fullest - we are here to have an abundant life - but never forget eternity. Y Block Ministries has a goal to reach people like us with the truth of the life-changing power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Politically correct? Not on your life.

Socially acceptable? Not in this day and age.

Maybe there's a good reason why I keep getting called the "Hot Rod Reverend!" ????

All of this too reminds me of something that Bruce Young puts in the YBM every once in a while. He has a tendency to let everyone know that we aren't getting any older - if you are going to try something out, put together that monster Y Block, race that Y block powered vehicle, or whatever.......do it now.

Tim - God bless you at this time as well.

Anyone who thinks they may be getting too old to go fast should think about Art Arfons, who after being temporarily salt-blinded while riding a jet engine at 500 mph, wanted to go back to Bonneville and do it again in his 60s.
