Intake manifold gasket leaking? If it was working fine before you swapped to the new one, I would look to anything that was touched during the procedure. I took me two tries to get my intake gasket sealing correctly when I swapped to the B.

The Edelbrock carb is new on your engine also? Along with the previous suggestions you need to check each possible problem out, one at a time. Is the engine obviously missing at the tail pipe on a cylinder or more? Is it possible that during the changeover a plug wire could be damaged or not connected properly?..

What distributor are you running? If it is a '56 that could be the problem. Need '57 or later distribtor with late model carb.

It's possible that you need to do a little tuning. Check for vacuum leaks. You will probably notice less low end power, everything else being equal.

I have boltet a new blue thunder alu intake manifold on my 56 Mercury Montclair 312 engine, but the engine was runnig very bad with this new intake manifold.

Could that be right?

I have Edelbrock carburator and air cleaner, and MSD ignition, everything else is original!

Its sound like it not was running on all cylinders!

best reguards
