he musnt think much of scrub engines hes giving one away at $ 4,495 still way to dear for one i wouldnt pay that much for a boat anchor.

I don't know much about cammers but they don't seem as far out of line. Depending on how you went with a cammer, you could have $21000+ in parts alone!



His Y block stuff is way high. Some people forget that they are made out of iron and not gold or diamonds.

Does sound high for an offset crank, but if you paid say $100-$150 for a nice crank & had the offset machining done, what would it reasonably cost? As for dealing in Ford Cammers, there's no way that's not going to be very expensive! How many did Ford build? As far as I am aware, they were never a regular production item. However, there is an error in the Ad if I read it right. The Mains are listed as (272) 292, but it says it fits a 312...

Charlie, you,re right about the cammers prices, you cannot compare them to anything, they are rare, pricey to rebuild and despite some remade parts available, still involved to completely rebuild. i can remember 1st one i saw in 1989, walking into Speedomotive on Slauson ave, CA and a rebuilt one on a stand was $15.000.00 then, cheap by todays standards. My good y block friends have 3 cammers and is taking them years to get bits and pieces to replace worn out or missing odds n ends. I sure would like the y blocks big brother!

The cammer prices are in the $25,000 plus range so he's not that far off on them. He's way ahead of his time on the Y stuff though. Chuck in NH

To offset grind we charge an extra $150.  so if you buy a good crank, even a 312, for say $250 add $150 to offset and $90 for the regular grind you get close to $500.  even if you bought "Pops" crank you will need to balance it to your parts so figure another $150 for that.
