Here is my plan I need input if it is doable. I plan to use a Bendtsen's adapter and install a ford aod  transmission, 9 inch with 3:50 gears and trac loc.

1. Bore to 3.860 , splurge on Mummert's forged dome pistons. I would like to end up with

9:1 comp.  Can I use the c1te rods or use 312 rods (which I Have.) Balance the rotating assy.

2. Mummerts Y-270s cam and lifter kit.

3.  I have a good used set of high ratio rockers.  Can I use my stock push rods?

4.  How big of an intake valve can I put in the c1te heads without creating too much shroading of the valve.

Do I need to do any more machining on the heads other than opening up the ports a little.

5.  I plan to use a edelbrock 273, 3x2 with 94's and progressive linkage.  I know a four barrell would probably perform better and be less hassell but the 3-2's look so cool.

Either of the 6.254" rods you mention are too short for a 292 crankshaft. They will only work with a 312 crank. If you are using a 292 crankshaft you will need either EBU or C2AE rods.

Some people have used the 1.92" intakes in the C1TE heads but interferrence with the sparkplug is an issue. We often use a 1.84" intake valve. Considerable bowl work will be needed to open up the for .200" larger valves. With the new heads on the market I suspect the value of ECZ-G heads will drop some. You might find them for less than a few years ago.

With C1TE heads an honest 9.0:1 will be possible with 10cc dome.  G heads would raise compression 1 point.

The cam you mention should work well in the 2000-5500 range.

Finally got my block and heads back from hot tanking process and I got a  surprise.  My heads are C1TE and my block is C2AE which includes the connecting rods.  Since my last post I also have acquired a set of 113 heads and a 312 crankshaft.  I still want to keep the compression around 9:1. As near as I can tell neither the heads or crank have been machined before.  Keeping in mind that I would like to keep the comp. ratio near 9:1 and since I will have to grind the crank anyway I might as well use the 312 and gain a little stroke.

1.  What pistons do I use? Will the domed pistons be too much?

2.  What connecting rod do I use?

3.  What push rod do I use.(the 133 heads came with a set of good used 1.54 rocker assays.)

4.  What is the maximum safe bore for the C2AE 292 Block?

If you use the 312 crank you must use 6.254" rods either ECZ or C1TE. The pistons will work with either combination.

Pushrod length is determined primarily by the heads. Any of the big valve heads (1.927") use the shorter pushrods.

A 3.830" bore and 312 crank with -113 heads will be 9.0:1 with 3cc domes.

It is impossible to give a "safe" bore size for any block since no two are exactly the same. I would either have it sonic tested or limit the bore to 3.830"

Thanks for taking the time to answer.  I was hoping you would give me your opinion.  I will try to get the block sonic tested.  I do have a set of Ecz rods but they will have to be checked out and at least rebushed.  It might be more cost effective to get a set of rods with the pistons.
