As Chuck mentioned, if there's enough wear to prevent an accurate feeler gauge adjustment, then refinishing the rocker tips would be recommended.  My older Sioux valve machine has the attachments to refinish rocker arm tips with the appropriate arc using the valve grinding wheel which makes this service available at most older machine shops throughout the country.  If the rocker tips have to be machined quite heavily to remove any excessive wear, then cryogenically treating them would likely restore some of the anti-wear properties.

The wear makes them difficult to adjust with a feeler gauge. There are articles in the old or tech area that explain how to do it by turns of the screw.

Machine shops can refinish the tips smooth again. I've known some people to hit them with a low grit grinding wheel. Some of the Y's Guys could weigh in on that! John/Ted??? Chuck in NH

Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

I just purchased a set of the high ratio rockers and they show a little wear

where the valve tip contacts them. Should I be concerned? or let it ride...

                                                       Thx Bill
