If it is a Dearborn block with ECG near the generator then the date code will be near the casting number by the generator. If it is a Cleveland block with ECG above the oil filter (far less likely) the date code will be above the starter.

pick up a y-block out of a 62 dump truck for my 58 ford car we took it apart and it was rebuilt it has 60 over pistons the heads are 292 but the block is a 272 but i can,t find a date for the block where would it be? thanks for the help teddyp
