The 465 didn't come with the vac hookup, but the boss for the vac hookup was there and I drilled in my fitting and all was done, these carbs are easy.............just gotta think.....Gary

The 390 cfm(model 8007-0)has a built-in port for the PCV hose to attach to.Not sure about the 465(1848) but I believe it has the same as the 390.Gary might answer that-he has the 465.Main difference between the two besides size is the choke control.390 has electric and the 465 has the traditional hot air choke.

Do any of these new Holley carbs. have a manifold vacuum take-off, or do you still need the ported spacer for a PCV system? The new aluminum manifolds don't appear to have a specifically designed PCV vacuum outlet either?

Another vote for the 390 Holley ! Mine runs like a dream and starts better than my 08.

...and from me. I've found it's even surprisingly good at the higher rev range which, after reading posts from the past, I wasn't expecting.

If you use the adapter AND a phenolic spacer make sure you have enough clearance under the hood with the stock aircleaner BEFORE you close the hood.On my 56 I have about 2 inchs between the hood and air cleaner using the "B" manifold and a one inch phenolic spacer.I used plasticene on top of the aircleaner to check for clearance.If you use a Holley carb you can use the stock 4 bbl aircleaner with  a little work where the cleaner sits on the carb.Looks stock.

I put a 390 with electric choke on about a month ago and I like it alot.  I used a trans-dapt adaptor from Summit to fit it directly to the small bolt patterned manifold.  Look for my post Preview #45787, I give a full account of everything I had to do.  My way was cheaper and easier than changing the manifold.  You will definitely need the 57+ distributor with it.

I have run both of those carbs back to back.  The 390 starts easier and gives better throttle response, but the eddy 500 gives more power at WOT.  The eddy feels "sloppy" at part throttle response, so for driving around town the 390 is crisper/better, but you do give up top end.  After playing with both, I left the Eddy on.  Now im playing with a demon jr 525 which has been a nightmare so far...

I have the 390 Holley(8007-0) on mine.Happy with it.Has electric choke.I think if I did it again I would go to the 465CFM model 1848 which is a little bit bigger but uses the conventional "hot air" choke setup.Checking prices they are a little less price wise than the 390.Either one is a  good option.As mentioned you will need a later dual advance distributor.Ask for one for a 64 F100 with 292 rebuilt unit.Also will need a 57-74 cap and rotor to go with the newer distributor.Shop around for the distributor.They all seem to be from Cardones but prices vary.Autozone had had good price as I recall.You will be surprised at how much better this upgrade works as compared to the present setup.No "off idle" dead spot for one thing.The dual advance distributor is much more responsive to engine load and speed.I installed lighter advance springs from Mr.Gasket($6.00) and the advance is much quicker..Also suggest you add a phenolic spacer(I use a 1 inch) and block off the heat transfer passage with a couple of pieces of tin when you replace the intake manifold.You dont need the heat for summer driving and it will run better with less heat on the carb.This upgrade is well worth the cost.Just reread your post.If you want to rtain the "A" manifold  you wil need an adapter to use the later Holley.Speedway motors as well as others sell an adapter.
