Has anyone put in a under dash AC unit sold by Nostalgic Air in a 55 or 56 fairlane? if you did what problems did you run in to? If you had a problem did they make it right? there kit includes everthing except the r134 for $674 I like the price but maybe sounds to good to be true

Vintage Air has a AC compressor mount for a Y Block - I have one on my car - unless they discontinued them.

I believe I got the bracket from "Southern Rods". It is a combination alternator/ AC bracket and the compressor mounts below the alternator. I used a GM (sorry guys) 1 wire alternator but I will admit the set-up needed quite a bit of tweeking with various spacers to get everything alligned correctly. I think that "Gearheads" is also making brackets for Y-blocks, but maybe just for the power steering pump set-ups they sell. Rono

Hey Kansas;; Don Hyde in Texas has the mountings for y blocks, beautiful a/c-alternator casting -- everything lines up. Had it on my tbird for 6 years still great. Also Allan Groves makes them, they advertize in Hot Rods Deluxe mag. Don's phone number is (972)423-4636. Hope this helps Good Luck God Bless Eddie

back to my origin post I know that Nostalgic Air has the comp mount /what I want to know has any one did business with them/ were they satisfied with the kit? If there was a problem did NA make it right? $680 just seems a little low for the kit/
