I burned up a perfectly good 57 Pontiac Chieftain once with 97's. As good as a pontiac gets anyway. Went back to the oe 4 bbl and a lot of new wiring.

pegleg (8/3/2010) Well at least you wouldn't have to worry about burning your ride down with 97's.Hahaha, You are the one that said "Well at least you wouldn't have to worry about burning your ride down with 97's." Sounded like you ment you would have to worry about BG's. Never mind, I was just yankin' your chain...

What's that mean?? You WOULD have to worry about burning your ride down with 98's??? Add a "T" to that. I've had pretty good luck with Barry Grant's stuff, so far.

Has anyone on the list used/experienced the demon 98's. I hear that they are great but would like to hear from someone who has used them.

As a general rule, the BG carbs are good. I do find random quality issues with both the Holleys and Demons out of the box and just deal with those issues as they occur. It’s too bad BG tested their new Demon 98 carbs on the Offenhauser intake though. Had they used any other 3X2 intake, they would have really been impressed.

I know a guy who's got a couple of demons on a flathead and he swears by them . He reckons that it's the best money he's spent , after stuffing around with old 97's & 94's. Personally I wouldn't mind the spare cash to try some myself !!
