I just took my '64 F100 with a '59 292 in it for a test drive, and I found that the throttle only seemed to go 1/4 to 1/2 of the way, I could rev it much higher by unhooking the linkage. The truck originally had a 2V 292 (from '64, obviously) My trucks current engine is from a 59 one-ton fuel truck, and has a thunderbird 312 intake (I believe, it's thunderbird at least) and a holley 4V, I also believe is a 4150. Was the two-barrel linkage shorter, so that now it can't do full throttle, or did I hook it up wrong? Also, my truck was made by cannibalizing it with the fuel truck and a 6-cylinder '66 F250, so the throttle linkage and pedal assembly might be from that...was the I6 throttle linkage different?
