I just took my '64 F100 with a '59 292 in it for a test drive, and I found that the throttle only seemed to go 1/4 to 1/2 of the way, I could rev it much higher by unhooking the linkage. The truck originally had a 2V 292 (from '64, obviously) My trucks current engine is from a 59 one-ton fuel truck, and has a thunderbird 312 intake (I believe, it's thunderbird at least) and a holley 4V, I also believe is a 4150. Was the two-barrel linkage shorter, so that now it can't do full throttle, or did I hook it up wrong? Also, my truck was made by cannibalizing it with the fuel truck and a 6-cylinder '66 F250, so the throttle linkage and pedal assembly might be from that...was the I6 throttle linkage different?

There are two things you need to look at. 1st, The rod between the bell-crank on the firewall and the carburetor may need to be shortened to give some travel back to the pedal. 2nd, There is a stop under the gas pedal. Make sure that is not preventing full travel.
