The mechanical water temp guage uses a 3/4" fitting. The hole in the intake behind the thermostat is 1/2". My heater hose also needs to come from this location. Is there any solutions that dont look awful?

It's probably 1/4" and 3/8" pipe threads. Can you drill and tap the intake?

I have my mechanical temp gauge mounted at the fitting at the rear of the head, drivers side. Same place it was originally, only electric. Heater sender then stays the same.

Kenny, Errata sheet to my first reply...The autometer fitting is a brass bushing, Look it up on "Summit" to see if that's what you are looking for. i.e., if it will fit your mechanical sensing bulb..You are right when you say the intake manifold is 3/8 NPT..Good luck

bird55 (8/14/2010) I have my mechanical temp gauge mounted at the fitting at the rear of the head, drivers side. Same place it was originally, only electric. Heater sender then stays the same.I have mine in the same location as Alan, much cleaner installation than in the intake manifold.
