The carb is  9834 - 2

I did try the carb cleaner, it may just be a dud metering plate... I'll try the old slam it shut trick, if that doesn't work I'll pull the 465 of my ute and try that.

What’s the list number on the Holley?

You might also try cleaning the air bleeds with some carb cleaner as a short term fix.

Another thing to try is a Running Flush on the carb.  This is where (with the car in ‘park’ of course) you bring the rpms up some, then go to full throttle and about the time the engine gets to 3500-4000 rpms or so, you choke the carb and leave the choke closed with the throttle wide open.  At the point of the engine stalling, then open the choke and let the engine then clear itself out.  This cleaning method allows engine vacuum to force fuel through all the circuits thus flushing them out.  If there is any debris floating within the circuitry and is loose enough to be sucked out, this will at times fix some of the simple carb ailments.  This may keep from having to pull the carb and do a more thorough cleaning on it.

Hi guys.. Finally the old gal is running  [292]. However I have a few probs.

I put in a 59 dizzy with a Petronix kit [new] and had no end of trouble, intermitant spark .. then no spark, missing. I am sure it had a lot to do with the breaker plate lifting anyway after enough stuffing around I put the old points back and shes running sweet..Its a shame you could really see the difference in spark between the old points and Petronix, is there a better coil that would improve spark on ponits ?

At the same time I put on a B manifold with a 600 Holley [second hand came with car when it left the US] replacing the old teapot. but I cant get any idle adjustment, I checked the power valve and it looked fine I could suck it and hold it ..?? what other things could I try.

Can someone give me tune up specs to start, Im mainly after what should be a good ignition curve, dwell ect ... Is the vacuum unit adjustable??

Cheers!
