My 56 T-Bird has on the passenger side firewall, near the distributer, a small electrical box with three wires to it. Looks like some kind of relay to me, but I don't see mention of it on my car's wiring diagram. Anyone know for sure? I looked around the T Bird parts suppliers too to see If I could see something similar. Thanks

The relay should be for the power windows.

Brian: Sounds like the overdrive relay to me.

Thanks. I hear it clicking & sometimes making a strange 'zzzt' noise when clicking the key to ON. Time to replace it it seems.

Hi Brian, Our T-Bird doesn't have any power accessories so I don't have the relay you mentioned. I think it is for power windows. Are your power windows working? If so, disconnect the relay and see if they still work. Good luck, Nick Brann - K.C., MO

Yes, the windows work. Looking at Larrys & CASCO web sites, I still don't see the relay (either an overdrive relay or window).

Hi Brian, You can get your relay rebuilt by a gentleman who specializes in them. He is also in the Portland area; Hillsboro, Oregon to be exact. His name is John Sailors and his email address is jsailors@verizon.net. Good luck, Nick Brann - K.C., MO
