Hi Butchboy, Frank is absolutely right, the heads are probably off of a passenger car and it doesn't matter if they were ever on a T-Bird or not. So don't pay extra because they are supposed to be from a T-Bird. Don't know what I was thinking about. Good luck, Nick Brann - K.C., MO

Butchboy, When you're looking them over remember two things. 1) all 57 heads are the same, there's nothing special about T' Bird heads. They were all "G" heads. 2) If you can, see if he can produce the invoice for the rework so you can verify the actual work done, and by whom.

Thanks for the information. I'll check them out. He had picked these up for a project a few years back & doesn't need them any more.

If your friend has a 57 Bird (?) I'm wondering why he would offer you a set of reworked heads? As mentioned, for a start they should be casting ECZ-G. Before you pay much for them, due to their age, check closely for cracks, particularly between the center exhaust valves..

Hi Butch, The short answer is yes if they are actually '57 T-Bird heads. 272-292-312 heads will interchange, as a rule. Most '57 T-Bird heads were ECZ-G which is cast into the head in the area where the intake manifold bolts on. Good luck, Nick Brann - K.C., MO

A friend has offered me a set of reworked heads off a 57 T Bird. Will they fit on my wifes 1959 292? Thanks,
