I'm putting a Mustang, toploader 3 speed in my 55 vickey. 272, will the Mustang pressure plate and clutch bolt up to the y-block flywheel. Thanx, Gary

You don't necessarily need the Mustang pressure plate, but you will need a disc that is the correct size and has the correct number of splines.



The Mustang pressure plate will probably bolt up as long as it is the same size as the YBlock. Ford did use the same bolt pattern for the pressure plates for a number of years, but there have been differences.

Just have to ask, why not the 4 speed toploader?  One more gear and its a very strong transmission.

I have a 3 speed sitting on the workbench, with hurst linkage, all free. I saw somewhere where Ted said something about a '67 fairlane clutch and plate fitting right up. It's a 10" set-up. Gary
