Talking about glasspacks, I was told that the shorter they are, louder the result is. Now I'm having ideas. Maybe a short glasspack can be nicer than a straight pipe after all. Any imput?

I recently heard a 312 Y with a single Smithy's glass pack and thought it sounded nice and throaty with a good rumble. I am personally going to run dual 18" Cherry Bombs, just to be absolutely sure that all the neighbors love me. Kevin: Will the Police love you too?... I'm sure they won't! That is half the fun! The flame-throwers I wanted to put on may not go over so well...

The glasspack is ON! I used a Thrush, 25" overal length. And I must say I'm very pleased with the result. It is not anywhere near as loud as I was prepared for it to be, and the sound quality is very good. Thanks again!

Thank you for you input everyone! I am planning on giving the glasspack a shot. I just don't want to be like those full-size pickups that attack your eardrums when they pass with harsh, blappy obnoxiousness. While I don't mind the sound of a motorcycle with straight pipes, I don't want to be nearly that loud either. I'll post how it turns out when I have it on there.

Assuming that the engine is mostly stock, glass packs really won't be that loud. That is at least not what I would call loud. Try the glass pack. They're cheap. If it's too loud try something else.

I ran smithys, and replaced them with brockman mello-tones. Sounds 100x better with the brockmans. Made it sound like it immediately got about 200 cu in bigger, very healthy....

I think Oldford has a plan. I don't find single glass packs objectionably loud.
