The guy I have do mine who is very familiar with Y blocks is New world engines in Monmouth, Maine. He is young, probably my age, just slightly under 50. but his work is meticulous. he specializes only in vintage engines.

For me he line bored my block, squared it, decked it, bored cylinders, polished my crank, rebushed my connecting rods, shaved my heads, intake ports and installed new valves, guides, I furnished the springs and keepers from Mummerts. Honed my Bone!! oh wait, my wife did that part.

I then took all components to a balancing shop and within a couple days he had everything balanced from the damper to pressure plate.

I then did all the assembly myself.

Sorry about that sarcasm, but like Moonshadow said, our northeast lies beneath the iron curtain(sorry about that my fellow russian Y-Blockers, if there is any), so maybe you now understand better my lousy joke.

Possibly Harry Hutton in Ohio. If not Ted Eaton in Texas is really good. Ted has an ad on the links area. The last EMAIL address I have for Harry is: harryh1@fuse.net Good luck. Chuck in NH

PS Ted is building my engine now. He comes to the Labor day meet in Columbus, Ohio each year and could possibly deliver one for you. Contact him!

Thanks Moon Shadow. I live in Buffalo NY  USA  and I am looking for a great y block builder in the north east 500 mile radii of buffalo.  I recently hade my y block rebuilt locally ,I WILL NOT GO INTO THAT, now I need a professional job. I would rather not sent to Moffert in Ca as I would like a fast turn around and would to see the shop.

Not true! But due to the wide coverage of this site it helps to list your location in the tag line or in the message when asking a general question. We constantly ask people to list their information to help understand where they are located. Makes a difference when asking for help, parts or sellling items. LordmrFord is located in Finland so his northeast is quite different than ours! Chuck in NH
