The particular hex drive that I used was originally for a Small Block Ford application.  Don’t recall exactly where the one I used came from but Good Vibrations has them listed in their online catalogue.

Ted, nice pics and info! i got my hex drive part from Dale Wilch on ebay,  i used one for 302 windsor. Glad you all enjoyed the shootout and camaradie. Regards bill.Hehe

See if this helps.  Here’s some pics of where a three bolt hex adapter was adapted so the Hillborn injector fuel pump would work in conjunction with a marine cover on a Y.  This involved machining a hub that sandwiched betweeen the hex drive and the timing gear while fitting over the snout of the camshaft.

I have machined my marine front cover to direct mount a PG 150 hilborn pump. the problem i have is how to drive the pump. It uses a 3/8 hex driveshaft. In a perfect world the cam would come LH 1/2 - 13 thread and i would run down to Lowes and pick up a socket head bolt. Real world cam is RH 7/16 -14 and the best price LH bolts i can find is $75 for a box of 10.
The 2 options i have thought of is
1: Order bolts, redrill and tap cam to LH 1/2-13
2: Use RH 7/16 socket head bolt. Then after cam endplay is set and bolt torqued. drill and tap cam snout for a set screw.

Wonder if anyone out there has any other ideas (or opinions on these)

Ted has done this in one of the forums here as i was looking for same info, but you get a ford type drive spud that normally just bolts to cam gear, in our case a spacer was made that is bolted through the center and the spud bolted to that wiith the 3 small bolts as normal, if ted can send the pictures they are more informative, .P.S, i hope it was ted?Wink
