Many thanks to Tim for this build...the prior Cad 500 (used engine) let go on the way home from Eagle Field in May, so Tim r/b the spare 472 that I had sitting on the garage floor, with the goal to be the tow/chase rig for Tim's FED at Eagle Field in October (the 9th).

It was already +.030" and in pretty nice shape internally, but a few key changes were made to change it's manners beyond the Edelbrock intake/carb I already had.

Not a Y-block, but it's not a SBC either. Thought you guys would dig it...

Thanks again TIM!

Thanks for the plug Todd!  Although I think most guys here would view the Caddy as sacrilege in an Effie. Tongue  It does sound good if I do say so myself. Wink

Caddy in "anything" is cool old school, it was the engine of choice.  My highschool 57 effie had a 389 pontiac with 3 X 2's a 60 grill and fenders for the quad headlights. short wheel base made it scary fast.

Todd,

Very nice...sounds great.  I'm a Ford guy thru and thru but I have to say a Big Block Caddy is way cool.  And far as "Balls" go... I'm sure having balls that size is why your truck is so low.  Great job.
