I recently just picked up a 292 to drop into my '60 Panel. I was pretty psyched to find one priced within my budget and close enough to get.

Now have to deal with my transmission dilemma, and the FE engine/trans combo I currently have. I'd actually like to keep the cruise-o-matic if at all possible. Can the bell housing be replaced with something that will bolt up (like a from FOM)?

Yes, easy swap. Option # 1, you will need a front pump and torque converter and bell housing from a COM.                  Option # 2, 1958 up y block flexplate, and bell housing and depending on the pilot size on your current torque converter, you may have to machine a bushing to bring it up to y block size or replace it with a 58 and up converter. Do a topic search for Fmx and crusie o matic conversions and you will find alot of info on this topic.
