Bob Glidden is in bad shape. He ran one of Larry Morgan's new NHRA Pro Stock Mustangs a few weeks ago and after the run, passed out, falling and hitting his head. The short of it is he probably had a brain hemorage and now is back home from the hospital but according to post by his son Bill, it doesn't look very well for him. Glidden dominated the NHRA Pro Stock class for a decade or more, single-handedly taking it to the scrub and Mopar teams putting them on the trailer consistently running the Ford shotgun motor. He was unbeatable and it drove the competition crazy. He had no formal engineering education and was up against the best of the high tech teams of the era. Please keep him in your thoughts this holiday weekend.

Marv, Really sorry to hear that. He is/was one of my heros and a genuinely nice guy. Hopefully it will turn out OK.

he won a pro stock championship with a mopar small block one year. chrysler paid for it but i believe glidden was the only man that could have ever done it. kids today don't even know who he is. i'm sorry to hear about his health, i hope he gets better. i've always wandered what might have happened if he got interested in y-blocks. best wishes to him and his family.

A few years ago Bob had heart bypass surgery, remarked afterward he felt better than he had in years. Hope he recovers from his latest setback soon.
