I know some of you have instruments from Classic. i cant find out how to get the sensor adapter fit on the drive gear.

I am not sure that i have the parts i need. I have SN 16 and SN 17 adapter and Ford o Matic auto trans. Anyone remember what parts you used if you have the FoM. I have send mail to Classic but will not get any answer until after the weekend so maybe i will get answer here quicker. I bought a kit that should fit Ford but there was no specified year or model.

Ok, after searching on this forum i know now a lot more than before. 56 and 57 has not the same speedo drive gear and the adapter from Classic instrument fits 57 and up. Spending a lot of money on instrument and machinery costs on my dash and also painting i have to get this working. What i learn here, i cant put the 57 gear in 56 tranny so i think i have to buy one of each and cut them to put 56 gear and 57 shaft together in some way. Anyone here who has another solution?

This would be a lot of work, but if you can find someone with a junk 57 or later transmission, you can swap the tailshaft and speedometer gear from the later one onto your 56 transmission and then use the adapters you have. The swap can be done without removing the transmission from the car.

Is there a place around you that can make a custom cable? An adapter cable which goes between the transmission and sensor may work.

Any chance the adapter would hook up at the speedometer head?

Thank's, that was a new angle to think about. Custom made cable between the tranny and the sensor adapter, i just need something to rotate between these two. Good, on my way out in the workshop again, dinner have to wait. Thank's.
