The cap is non vented as the tank has vent pipe in side that is evident near filler cap location.Smile

If it was restored 23 years ago, there is a good chance that the rubber vent line from the tank to the line in the fender well could be bad. Its a good idea to check them ever so often to keep from sucking dirt and water in the tank. If it is bad, make sure the line from the fendewell to near the filler cap isn't plugged. If its plugged, you may run out of gas or even collapse the fuel tank if you have a good fuel pump and are low on gas.
