I'm wiring the overdrive in my car to operate from a toggle switch.Does anyone know off hand which is the correct wire to connect to at the solenoid, the blue or the orange?I get a click from either wire when 12 volts is applied, but a much stronger click from the blue wire.

Blue it is. My transmission is going back in. I didn't mark them when I took it apart, but it draws more amps on blue. It's supposed to disconnect on orange.

Thanks Dennis,

Is your truck a 55?If so, is it still 6 volt positive ground? That might make a difference in the color of the wiring.

It's actually a 54 with a 55 grill. It's 6 volt negative ground, so I can pull trailers with electric brakes.

Thanks again, Dennis,

Since your negative ground, the color should be the same on my 12 volt negative ground.
