The jets in my Holley 4000 ECZ List 1161 are 50 and 72.  72 seems way big.  Wouldnt 60 be a lot better for the secondaries?

According to my Holley books it says

#73 secondaries for 0-5000 ft.

#63 for 5000 - 10,000 ft

#55 for 10,000 - 15,000

what is your elevation?

Marv, I am at 1300 feet.  So 50 secondaries maybe, and 48 primary?  It seems like a narrow spread.

1300 ft elevation or 13,000 ft elevation?

The lower the elevation the larger size jet is required.

I think the 50 for secondaries will be too small.

I ran 50's as primary in a stock 292 engine with original carb and #60 primaries in a Lincoln teapot on same engine.



Holley numbers always seem large compared to a Autolite jet number.



Are you having a bog when the secondaries open as that will happen if the primary jets are undersized.

Oh, I misread the first post on elevations.  Thanks.  I just got it back from a rebuild and he told me which jets were in place, so was wondering.  Dont have it on an engine yet.

Is it a stock 292?

Well it could end up on a stock 292, a mild street 292/301, or strong street 322.  But I am going to first try it out on a stand mounted stock 292.
