I just received a call from Egge about my order for .060 OS 312 pistons.  They didnt have any on hand and were going to have to grind a set.  Also didnt have any new castings to use and had to use older castings, therefore being unable to assure weights closer than 16 grams from one piston to the next.  I cancelled the order.

I'll be calling John soon.

Tim, I have communicated with the seller twice over the last 3 or so weeks.  Once by email and another by phone.  Each time he has said the pistons are gone, sold out.  I placed another email inquiry this AM.  I'm not on a blocked buyer list, as the purchase can be processed up to hitting the "Confirm Purchase" tab.  Havent ever delt with the seller, and have never left negative feedback, for anyone, even though a few times it has been warranted.   Strange.

Bill, as for Silvolites, I was trying with the Egge's to gain a little advantage regarding the Piston pin location.  A call into John earlier yielded the info that they are out of 3.860 forged pistons.  Still awaiting a return call regarding the expected time of restock.  Silvolite may eventually be the only choice.

Yeah! That looks like a fairly good deal at $240 + $18 shipping....... Although you will need to ask if they're +0.60 .....it didn't say............ (you must have +0.60?)





Summit has the same kits for $309 + shipping.......





Maybe contact El Paso Discount Auto Parts, ask them if they'll sell direct, then call Summit and then ask them if they'll match etc.......

 We have sets only in .060 over the standard bore which is 3.8000 (96.5mm).  Ring Groove size's are 1-5/64, 1-3/32 and  1-3/16. Pin diameter is 0.9122.   These pistons have flat heads

I noticed Speedway offered 312 pistons and sent a question asking about the country of origin.  Pistons were only something like $220.  They sent back a response that said the suppliers of their parts did not provide Countries of Origin, so the information wasnt available.  I guess my fall off the Turnip truck was rougher than I thought.  Has anyone tried the Speedway pistons?

I just ordered my 292 pistons from speedway last week.  When i inquired about them was told they were made by EGGE.  And i believe part of the part # they use was same as egge part #.   So 312 pistons may be made by them too.

Mike, the forged piston supplier is quoting me 8-10 weeks for the forged pistons. They are out of forgings so they need to be ordered and then the pistons made.

I can likely get the Silvolites in .060" over. They are made south of the border and are pretty heavy but my supplier usually has them.

I might be able to get some flat top forged pistons made sooner if that works for you.

If you're willing to go to .075 over a 312 size ( 3.875 ) then you can use 283 pistons which are not hard to come by. Just alittle work on pin size and you have a perfect fit.I'll bet John can get those easy enough and add alittle more power to the Y as well.
