Fellas,

I am looking for the oiling modification thread given some time within the last year where guys were drilling a hole or two and maybe adding a groove for the timing gears on the front of the block...(can this be done without an oiling trough like the earlier engines have?)

Tim...

that's what I'm talkin' about! Cool

Got those pesky oil plugs out today, and I am getting ready to take the block to the machine shop...(hold breath and cross fingers)...anyhow, do you think I could put one of those troughs on my C2AE block? I would have to tap a hole, but I assume that there is enough meat at that exact location not be a problem with blocking another passage or something oddball right? That lifted corner - is that lifted towards the crankcase dampener?

Unless someone knows different I would say you can do it.  I have been drilling a hole about 1/3rd the way up from the main at an angle pointed towards the chain to get a direct spray on it, thats how the 223s do it.

BTW I got a package from you today, thanks. BigGrin

Although Tim has reposted the pictures, here’s the original thread which is loaded with other information.
