I'm trying to get my '54 Merc back on the road. It will have a 292 bored .030 over with ECZ-G heads and cam ground to 256* with lift of .400 int and .420 exh. I'm planning on using a Holley 450, although at present I have a 390 ready to go. It will be hooked up to a C-4 and be used for general cruising and some long road trips.
I've had the rocker shafts rebuilt by John Mummert many years ago but didn't spring for the 1.54 rockers at the time. Is there a big difference in performance and/or economy between those and the 1.43s?
