I bought a running 239 in a '54 Ford.  This engine has a Carter WGD carburetor.  The carb seems to be good and the engine runs good except for being a little sluggish.  I'm thinking about going to a small 4 barrel on the 239 and using this carb on my flathead 59A.  Can anyone tell me anything about this carburetor?  What CFM?  Venturi size?  Would it be a good carb for the flathead?  What did it originally come on?  I'm full of questions and know nothing about this carburetor.  Thanks.

Thanks 46Yblock.  I did some searching and found that the carburetor came on Buicks, Oldsmobiles, and even Hudsons.  I still haven't been able to find the CFM, but if it powered a 303 Olds, it should do well on a stock flathead.

I had a buddy that had a flattie with aluminum heads, cam and 4 barrel intake and this carb and it ran great. It was in a 39 convertable.
