Definately a steal at $25.00! The intake alone is worth much more than that. Take your time, do your homework and have fun with the rebuild. Rono

That is exciting,, I just got done with my first y-block build and wish I would have found this forum first. I had a few road bumps but I learned an incredible amount about this engine. If everything would have just worked perfect I would not have learned as much. Make sure to post any questions you have. I found there are a lot of very knowlegdable people in this forum about y-blocks. The engines are awesome and hope you have fun. I have pics of my rebuild under street forum, F100 4X4 makeover. Robi

Checked those main caps yet to see if it's a 312?

That is one great buy! If you are putting that motor in the '54 in the background then remember you do not need the front center motor mount at all. The one shown in your picture is a later truck mount but you can not use it and it must be removed. In the pass cars the motor is mounted to the chassis by the two mounts on the side of the V8 block and the trany mount. This is not how the truck motors are mounted. You do need a new bell housing, the truck one will not work. If the engine you are replacing is a 239 inch 54 V8, the fly wheel and Bell will bolt right up but you can not use the 6 bell housing.

Great buy! If you haven’t already pulled the pan yet to check for ECZ or EBU on the caps, then take a look at the outer edge of the crankshaft flywheel flange at see if it has a 5/16” raised dot opposite of the half moon cutout. If so, then odds are good that you have a 312 or a 3.44” stroke crankshaft. If there is a small dot or multiple dots, then you have a 292 or a 3.3” stroke crankshaft. If no dot, the crankshaft could go either way.

Nice grab! Heck of a deal at 10 times the price (or more). the manifold itself goes for $125-150. Keep us posted on your progress.
