So, I have a 1959 Fairlane, I recently pulled the engine and transmission out.

I want to rebuild the transmission myself, but I cant seem to get a straight answer as to which transmission I have.

It does have a detachable bellhousing and there is an orange I.D. tag on the drivers side of transmission that says 292 and then next to that it has "PAZ-S" and then next to that is "13380".

I am assuming it is a Fordomatic, but on my VIN I.D. tag it has the letter "c" listed under the transmission identification. So does that make it a cruiseomatic?

Any help to identify this transmission would be much appreciated.

By the way it does have cooler lines that go up and hook into the radiator.

Thanks again for any help.

It is a Fordomatic 3 speed from a '59 Ford with a 292 2 barrel.

I have Ford shop manuals, '49-'59, two manuals, one illustrations, the other text.  The text manual has cross references from the  PAZ-S to the application.
