Glen , I received an e-mail a few days ago from Bill .He was O.K . The tornado missed him by a few mile .Sure glad that it didn't hit when we were there last year .I'ts very hard to come to terms with the damage and the loss of life . Houses can be rebuilt ,but lives are gone forever . Stay safe . God Bless America . Lon

Good to hear that you and the cars are OK Jerry, John Wilson should be OK also, I think everthing was north of him. I have not heard anything out of Bill Patridge though. I'll try to call him tomorrow, if he does not check in.

Jerry: Glad to hear you escaped the carnage, but I am saddened to hear about the others in your county. I'm sure you know at least a few of them. Hope John is OK.

Glen, Lots of damage over here in northwest georgia but i had no damage here at my place. The 57 fords are safe!! Hundreds of trees down and a few barn roofs gone a couple of miles north of me. According to the local paper there were 36 homes totally destroyed,68 with major damage and 309 with minor damage in this county. But this was nothing compared to the damage in Alabama. My satellite is still down so i havent been able to see what is happening elsewhere. Havent talked to John Wilson in Tallassee. Hope he got through it all ok. Will call him today. Jerry P.

Up here in the N.West we hear grumblings about the cold wet Spring we are having... then we see on the news of the total devastation occurring in areas far to the south & east of us... our sympathy & best wishes go out to all those so affected by the storms & flooding. And I hope all our forum members & families are o.k..

Glen Henderson (4/29/2011) Thanks Frank and everone, I talked to my son (1LT Josh Henderson) this afternoon. His National Guard unit has been sent to North Alabama. He was in Iraq three years ago and said this is worse than anything that he saw overthere as for as distruction.Just heard on our local news here in Aust that the death toll is over 300 plus, it certainly brought home what the devestation and sheer force of nature can do. Best wishs for all those caught up in it.

2011 seems to be becoming a bad year . We sure have had our share of floods, storms & cyclones in Au ,earthquakes in NZ,& tsunamis in Japan .Our thoughts & prayers go out to everyone effected by the tornadoes in America .When you see the damage ,it's hard to believe how anyone survived .? Over here in north La. there were countless severe thunderstorms with a scattering of tornadoes, but I only know of three or four fatalities, two of which were drownings from driving into flood waters. Trusting God for our neighbors to the east.
