Mike, if you are still using the stock generator, standard practice is to install a condensor on the "armature" terminal of the generator and the "armature" terminal of the regulator. The pigtail of the condensor goes to the terminal. The mounting tab is fastened under the through bolt of the generator and under one of the mounting bolts of the regulator. A "choke" or elctrical transformer can also be installed in the power feed to the radio. These items are all inexpensive and readily available at Radio Shack, parts store, etc. If the noise is a rythmic tap or click then the plug wires are probably breaking down. Changing them is a bit time comsuming but not difficult at all. Remove all the wires as a unit with the seperators intact and still attached to the distributor cap. Then replace each wire one at a time. Due to their length and the multiple insulators it is a bit tedious but just take your time. Also, when changing sparkplugs, use a resistor type. If nothing else, the neighbors will appreciate it. LOL Good luck.

I would agree.Take it to a radio shop.Ford used to install a couple of condensor like things to help with radio interference I seem to recall.

I would take my car to a auto stereo installer and have them listen to it and tell you what filter you need. No need buying parts that won't fix your problem and they are in the business.

The static speed increases as the engine rpms pick up, there isn't any interference from the turn signals. Don't really want to change plug wires because I have a good set and they look like a bear to change.

Mike; Do you still have the stock ignition wires? If so, you may want to try a set of RFI supression plug wires. Rono

Can you describe the RFI? Ie., is it whining or ticking? That is to say, is it ignition noise or charging system? Can you hear the turn signals flash? A bit more information would help to pin point the source.
