I bought the entire system from Gord McMillan, he was selling them on ebay along with other items for y blocks that he engineers and casts out of aluminum. It's a modified Paxton to an SN 92 and it's been on the car for over a year now - lots of fun. There is a timing belt bolted onto the front pulley and a large bracket that mounts the S/C in place. Blow thru carb and MSG electronic ignition. When I rebuilt the engine I didn't have the blower so i wasn't thinking in those terms, so the setup isn't optimized for a S/C but it really runs well and I'm slowly tweaking it forward.

Although the McCulloch stuff is getting hard to find it is still around. That said I've often wondered about using the later Paxton or Vortech centrifical superchargers with either modified or custom made brackets. There have been some posts of engines using custom made aluminum brackets but nobody is offering to make them for us. There is also a lot of research on different ways to mount a regular blower on the Y. Some modify stock manifolds to bolt them on and others have made adapters to use scrub blower intakes (cheaper). I would like to have a 471 on my Y someday but will have to find the right price deal to do it. Last time I saw a Y-block blower manifold it sold for over $4000. Way beyond my budget. Someone should start making bolt on adapters to make them fit! Please!! Chuck in NH

      Hey Guys

    I was reading through a bunch of old posts, some were 2 or 3 years old, today about 471 heads and one member stated because McCullogh, forgive the spelling, brackets were so hard to come by he was going to go with another commonly available belt driven blower and fab his own brackets.

    I know there are other brands of blowers out there but he didn't mention a brand and  it got me wondering if there are other options that might realistically be used or are being used on y blocks.
