My Teapot Boils over regularly on my VR57 Supercharged Sedan when the weather get over 85 degrees. It actually floods the engine.
It is heat/fuel related in my situation, and only does it on very warm days.
It is due in my situation to the heat soak after the car is shut off and the fuel in the carb boils over, just like dirt under the needle and seat.
My issue is cause by the modern fuel having a low boiling point, I live at 3200ft elevation, the blower heats up the air in the bonnet, and the heat cannot excape the bonnet when the engine is shut off or sitting in high heat traffic situations. I have a return lines and a fue;l pump controller to slow the pump at low rpms.
I have dealt with this for years on this car. I drive it so often that it is a problem during really hot weather, especially when I am running errands, and it boils over after sitting a few minutes.
I have tried every needle seat and different float levels and phenolic spacers.
I have a switch on electric fuel pump and shut off the the pump when it floads the carb. I have to shut off the pump and hold the gas down to clear the flooding until cool fuel get back into the carb.
My '57 t-bird has the same fuel boiling issue on really hot days as it has a 460 under hood.
