I am looking to replace my coil springs. My springs now have been torched and it gives the car that dropped nose look and I want to get it back up. I have found some OE spec springs but they are all $200 or more. I was trying to find out if anyone knew of any springs from another model that would fit and wouldn't cost so much. Is there anything from a later model vehicle that would work? Thanks

Best price I've seen was from Eaton Springs in Detroit. 160$ + shipping. That was the price I got for my 57 Custom 300. I dont know of any other springs that will work and have the factory ride height. Aerostar springs will work but it drops it down 2-3 ins.

You can try to get some used springs from a salvage yard.

      You might ask through Classified and see if someone saved their stock springs after lowering with the aerostar springs.

I also have a wagon and doing the reverse of what you are doing. I want to lower it in the front. Did the cut coil springs work OK for you? I do not want to spend alot of money. If any one has any other ideas that would be great. Thanks AR

My springs were torched not cut. My brother cut his springs on his Chevy though, worked good for him.

There is a kit on EBAY sometimes that is a good solution. It consists of 4 metal bars and bolts. Could be easily made. You remove the rivets that hold the lower contror arm spring plates, insert the 1" metal bars under the arms and bolt the spring plate back in. This loweres the bottom of the coil spring about 1" into the A arms and lowers the front of the car about 2". When I did mine I had the alignment checked and it was all still in spec. 4 1" square bars with holes drilled at the rivet locations and some grade 8 bolts is a pretty simple deal. Chuck in NH
