Doing my rebuild of the Customline and amongst my parts I have 2 types of torque converters and wondered which is the preferred or better type.

One has a flat flange around the outer edge which is bolted to the flex plate with about 18 or 20 bolts.( my guess is that this is the earlier model and I have 2 of these)

The other is more conventional and is attached with 4 or 6 bolts from the converter body to the flexplate.(my other guess is that this is the later model but the ring gear is not very good so it is not my first choice to use)

Can anyone let me know which would be better to use please

Cheers
